Almost every floor scrubber can work like a new machine.  A few simple procedures could allow you to get the most out of your floor scrubber.  Swapping the scrub brushes makes them work like new and last longer. Do it every month.  Flipping the squeegee over usually makes the machine dry the floor much better.  Clean and tighten the battery terminals to extend the run time.  Spending a few minutes each month doing these simple tasks will make a huge difference in the performance of your floor scrubber.

Neglecting Battery Maintenance is one of the most expensive mistakes you can make with your sweeper or scrubber.  Batteries should be checked and filled to ¼” over the lead plates at least one time per month.  Making one person responsible to check them is the key.  Put up a log for them to initial each time they are checked.  Charging batteries with little or no water will ruin them.  In a typical battery scrubber this is about a $1,000.00 mistake!

Schedule floor cleaning in your plant for the best results.  There are many reasons to schedule your floor cleaning.  First and foremost, your floor cleaning will actually get done! Having a set time to clean will also allow other employees to get ready for the scrubber or sweeper to come by.  They can move things out of the way, limit forklift traffic, etc.  When the floor scrubber comes by each day it is also a reminder to everyone in the plant to straighten up their work area.
